Neylan, or Lani, comes from outstanding Kangal Dog lines and will bring much-needed diversity to Texas.  We co-own her with Tamara Taylor from Turkmen Kangal Dogs and Patteran Dairy Goats.  We are blessed to have such a great mentor in Tamara, as she worked closely with David and Judy Nelson in the late 1990s to establish the Kangal Dog in the United States.

Lani has been at the Rafter O since she was a puppy and has developed into a smart, loyal guardian.  She patrols our property with her “sister”, Beyza.  She is very bonded to our Mini Nubian Dairy Goats.

We took Lani to her first UKC Dog Show in October 2024 in Norman, Oklahoma.  On the first day of showing against 10 other Kangal Dogs, she won it ALL….TWICE!  On the second day, she placed very well in her age, and brought home some more ribbons!

Lani ranks in the top 5% in DI for PennHip testing and is normal for Degenerative Myelopathy and Von Willebrand’s Disease.

We are excited to pair her up with Turkmen Murat’s Eti Bakan for our first litter of Kangal Dogs at the Rafter O.  Expected in 2025!
