🐐 About Indy

Indy is a striking polled, blue-eyed, moonspotted buck who came to us from One Nine Acres in Alabama. With outstanding milk lines and a championship pedigree, Indy was a perfect fit for strengthening both the production and breed character in our herd. As he matured, he developed tremendous body capacity, with notable depth and width throughout—a buck that truly made his mark here at Rafter O.

In 2018, Indy proved his worth as a sire by producing an impressive ratio—7 doelings out of 9 kids! His influence continued as we retained two of his 2019 daughters, Doodlebug and Clover, both of whom have been foundational does in our herd. In 2020, we kept another of his daughters, Wren, along with a polled buckling, Meadowlark, ensuring Indy’s valuable genetics remained an integral part of our program.

Indy moved on to his new herd in May 2020, but his impact here remains strong through his outstanding offspring.

Indy’s influence on our herd is immense, most notably through three of his exceptional daughters we chose to retain:

• Clover — A beautiful two-tone chamoisee with blue eyes, Clover went on to become a Finished Champion with multiple Grand Champion and Best Udder wins. She is the foundation of one of our strongest maternal lines, producing outstanding descendants like Verbena, Poppy, Pancho, Pearl, Willow, and Tansy, and continuing Indy’s legacy of superb conformation and udder quality.
• Doodlebug — Made her mark early in the show ring, winning Grand Champion Junior Doeling and Reserve Grand Champion Junior Doeling at the Hill Country Mini Milkers Texas Two-Step on June 2, 2019. Her success highlighted Indy’s ability to pass on show-winning structure and style.
• Wren — Another treasured Indy daughter, Wren blends lovely Nubian character with fantastic milkability and a gentle personality. She has gone on to produce Summer and continues to strengthen the genetic foundation of our herd.
