Clair is a striking Cou Clair 1st generation Mini Nubian doe who came to us from Nomad Nubians. From the moment we saw her, we knew sheneeded to be part of our breeding program. With her high Nubian percentage, Clair was on

the larger side, so we carefully paired her with smaller bucks to keep her kids within our ideal size range. Her unusual Cou Clair markings and beautiful blue eyes made her truly stand out, but it was her powerhouse milk pedigree—tracing back to Saada, Woest-Hoeve, Iron Owl, and DKGH—that made her an invaluable addition.

Clair was an exceptionally feminine doe with a long, lean, dairy neck. We thoughtfully matched her to bucks that added width and capacity, and the results were outstanding. Her udder was socked on high with strong attachments, a well-defined medial, ideal teat placement and size, and excellent orifice size, making her effortless to milk by hand or with the Simple Pulse machine. Her second freshening udder showed a remarkable increase in capacity, underscoring why she played such a key role in shaping the future of our herd.

🌸 Legacy & Offspring

Clair is the cornerstone of our maternal Clover line at Rafter O, linking together some of the most important goats in our herd. In 2019, we retained her beautiful blue-eyed, two-tone chamoisee daughter, Clover, who went on to become a Finished Champion with multiple Grand Champion and Best Udder wins. Clover’s own daughters—Verbena, Pearl, and Willow—carry on Clair’s legacy of strong conformation, beautiful udders, and excellent dairy character. Poppy, Tansy, Summer, and Pancho all trace back to Clair, carrying forward her exceptional line and ensuring her influence remains a vital part of our herd for generations to come.

🚚 Moving Forward

Having retained multiple daughters and granddaughters from Clair, she has gone on to a wonderful new home in Cedar Hill, TX along with her doeling, C.C. We are grateful for the solid foundation she has provided to our herd and look forward to watching her influence continue through the many generations that trace back to her.
