🐐 About Willow

Rafter O Desert Willow - Mini Nubian DoelingWillow is the promising daughter of two exceptional FINISHED CHAMPION Mini Nubians—Clover and Tundra—bringing together some of the finest genetics and show-winning traits in our herd. Willow boasts a unique Cou Clair color pattern and striking blue eyes, traits she is already growing into beautifully. She shows excellent conformation and strong dairy character, reflecting the best qualities of both her parents.

Clover is a striking two-tone chamoisee doe with captivating blue eyes who stands out for her femininity, superb topline, and outstanding structure. Her pedigree is rich with top-quality Nubian bloodlines, and her show career includes multiple Grand Champion titles and Best Udder awards earned in highly competitive Texas shows. Clover’s mammary system is particularly impressive, with high attachments, strong capacity, and ideal teat placement—traits she reliably passes on to her daughters.  Clover is a Live Show Finished Champion.

Tundra, our well-established herd sire from California’s Blackberry’s Goat Herd, complements Clover perfectly. He contributes excellent milk and show genetics, along with a strong, balanced build. His lineage also brings valuable horned and long-eared traits that have helped diversify and strengthen our breeding program. Tundra’s offspring consistently perform well in the ring, proving his tremendous value as a sire. Tundra is a Live Show Finished Champion.

Together, Clover and Tundra have produced Willow—a young doe we are thrilled to watch mature. With her exceptional conformation, strong dairy character, and elite pedigree, Willow represents the next generation of our breeding goals, and we’re excited to see how she develops and continues the legacy of both her outstanding parents.

🌿 Name Origin

Desert WillowDesert Willow (Chilopsis linearis) is a graceful, small ornamental tree native to the arid and semi-arid regions of the southwestern United States and Mexico. Despite its name, it’s not a true willow—rather, it gets its common name from its long, narrow, willow-like leaves that give it a delicate, airy appearance, perfectly suited for dry landscapes.

The Desert Willow is prized for its beautiful, trumpet-shaped flowers that bloom profusely from spring through fall in shades ranging from pale pink to deep lavender. These blooms not only add striking color but also attract hummingbirds and a variety of pollinators, making the tree a vibrant centerpiece in any landscape.

With its exceptional drought tolerance, elegant form, and cheerful blossoms, the Desert Willow embodies both beauty and resilience—qualities we see reflected in our Willow. Much like the tree that thrives gracefully under tough conditions, Willow stands out with her charm and quiet strength, promising to flourish and bring beauty to our herd for years to come.
