Poppy is a beautiful young doe who represents the best of our breeding program, combining the strength of our treasured Clover maternal line with the power and consistency of our outstanding herd sire, Tundra. She’s a genetic goldmine, bringing together two of our most influential lines in one elegant, promising package.

Her conformation is a harmonious blend of her dam and granddam, showcasing balance, dairy character, and correctness throughout. From her level topline and strong feet and legs to her feminine head and smoothly blended front end, Poppy displays the kind of structure we aim to reproduce generation after generation.

We are especially excited about Poppy’s potential, not only because of her impressive pedigree but also because of the traits she’s already exhibiting—both physically and temperamentally. At the May 2025 Hill Country Two-Step, Poppy impressed Judge Kelly Martin and earned Grand Champion Mini Nubian Junior Doe. She then went on to win Best in Show Junior Doe, standing out among all breeds with her balance, structure, and ring presence. We’re so proud of this promising young doe!

NAME ORIGIN

Prickly Poppy is undoubtedly an apt name for this lovely flower. They are easy to grow and attract nectar and pollen-gathering insects. You are almost sure to see a bee of some kind when you look into one of these large, frilly white blooms. Plant Prickly Poppies where you can enjoy them from a distance, as they really are prickly! Foliage is more of a blue-green color, and leaves somewhat resemble fresh Swiss chard with white ribs running down the veins.
