Date of Birth: 05-28-24

POLLED, BLUE-EYES, TWO-TONE CHAMOISEE.

Summer has it all!  Polled, blue-eyes, milk, and two-tone chamoisee!  She brings together the best of our herd!  Summer is a very sweet, in-your-pocket goat.

Her dam, Wren, results from our infusion of Nubian genetics into our Rafter O herd.  Wren is a very feminine doe and has a very high escutcheon.  She became a great milker with good teat, orifice size, production, and capacity.  She is a dream to hand milk!  Wren has performed very well in the show ring, earning Grand Champion wins as a junior and senior doe.

Her sire, Pancho, is a very masculine two-tone chamoisee, moon-spotted, blue-eyed buck.  He is maturing very nicely.  Pancho is the result of merging two great lines in our herd – Clover and Tundra!

Summer’s grand dam, Clover is a beautiful two-tone chamoisee doe with blue eyes.  She is very feminine and has a great topline and overall conformation.  Clover’s pedigree is outstanding on both sides.   Her udder is amazing…high attachment, good teat size, and good capacity.  Clover is a FINISHED CHAMPION with MDGA Live Shows and many Best Udder wins as well!

Summer’s grand sire, Tundra is our spectacular buck from out West.  He brings in a powerhouse pedigree of champs and milk stars. He’s got great conformation and greatly improves his kids!    Tundra also has his *B – milk star.  AND…Tundra has three Reserve Grand Champion wins in the MDGA Virtual Show!

Name Origin

Summer Tanager The only completely red bird in North America, the strawberry-colored male Summer Tanager is an eye-catching sight against the green leaves of the forest canopy. The mustard-yellow female is harder to spot, though both sexes have a very distinctive chuckling call note. Fairly common during the summer, these birds migrate as far as the middle of South America each winter. All year long, they specialize in catching bees and wasps on the wing, somehow avoiding being stung by their catches.
